$3.78 bln needed to develop Southeast Nghe An EZ

The People’s Committee of central Nghe An province has approved a plan to adjust the master planning for the Southeast Nghe An Economic Zone by 2040.

Under the plan, it is envisioned to become a multi-sector EZ with a focus on basic industry associated with the construction and efficient exploitation of Cua Lo and Dong Hoi seaports.

This is also an important gateway for Central and Upper Laos and Northeast Thailand to access the central region of Vietnam; and a counterbalancing growth pole, closely and comprehensively linked to the general development of Vinh City, Hoang Mai Town, Cua Lo Town and the surrounding areas.

Construction of social and technical infrastructure for the EZ needs an estimated capaital of over VND96.4 trillion ($3.78 billion).
